Declared a Natural Area of Special Interest by the Parliament of the Balearic Islands, it can be found only two kilometres from Capdepera. Its careful conservation and remoteness from the urban centre has ensured that it maintains its natural essence and be an attraction of the north east coast of Mallorca. In summer it has a mass of visitors, especially from its neighbours in Cala Ratjada.
Can Picafort
Located nine kilometres from Santa Margalida, you will find it in an excellent urban nucleus of the municipality and one of the oldest in the north of Mallorca. Surrounded by a delicate trail and seaside constructions, the charm of this coastal area is a must see for sea lovers.
Son Bauló
At the same distance as Santa Margalida as Can Picafort, this beach is a Natural Area of Special Interest of Son Real and allows access to those on foot, boats and vehicles, to which its easily accessible, meaning that in peak season it is a highly sought after beach, but luckily it stretches over 160 metres in length and 80 in width, so you always find a place to put your towel down.
Playa de Muro - Es Comú
It is an extensive beach in the municipality of Muro, only one kilometre from Can Picafort. It is one of the most unspoilt and well conserved beaches in the entire bay of Alcudia and it is more than 1400 metres long, it’s a fairly quiet beach ensuring that there is enough space for all those that visit it.
Playa de Muro - Sector I
If we carry on walking along the beach Es Comú, we arrive at the border of the Playa de Alcudia that ends this beach. This last trail is the meeting point between Muro and Alcudia and it is one of the points which is most visited by the two municipalities. Its characteristics are practically identical as that of Es Comú: fine white sand, greenery and crystal clear waters.
Playa de Alcudia
The third part of the bay of Alcudia and the continuation of the Playa de Muro. Located between the sports port Alcudiamar, this beach can be found in of the busiest urban nucleuses in the summer months. That is why, the number of visitors to this corner increases considerably when the hotter months begin. It is a fairly level beach with various docking piers from which you can jump in to the water.
Playa del Port de Pollensa
Made up of the Playa de Llenaire and the Playa dels Tamarells, found between the Playa de Can Cullerassa and Puerto de Pollensa. It has one and a half kilometres of sand which conserves the tranquillity even though it can be found in an urban nucleus with a lot of residential and touristic movement. Not a lot of boats moor here, given that is it not very deep; and there is very accessible and free parking.
Cala Barques
This beach forms part of the four beaches of Cala San Vicente (Pollensa), being the most important and touristic of them all. It has conserved its small fishing dock, which gives it a very special authentic and romantic feel. It is 80 metres in length which slightly compensates for its 40 metres in width, although it is a beach which can be easily filled as it is surrounded by holiday homes.
Cala Molins
We continue in Pollensa and we move a few metres away from Cala Barques. The Punta de la Torre is in charge of separating these two small coves. It has the same characteristics as its older sister.
Playa de Formentor
One of the best kept secrets in Mallorca is Formentor, an enclave like no other. One of its coves, of Formentor, is a privileged area. Within its interior you will find the playa de Formentor, Cala Gentil and the Hotel Formentor, internationally famous for its exclusivity and for being a holiday refuge for hundreds of famous stars.
